HAWA has been trying to make a dent in the pet overpopulation in Haywood County by making spay/neuter very affordable to county residents. The $30 special which fills up our limited transport space has proven to be successful by encouraging people to act now and take advantage of the special pricing. However, for every animal we sign up at $30, HAWA has to come up with $20 to subsidize the surgery. Obviously we cannot keep this up forever without donations to cover these costs. Please think about donating to HAWA so that we can continue to prevent litters of unwanted puppies and kittens being euthanized at the County Shelter.
