The Have a Heart $30.00 low-cost spay/neuter surgery program for February was very successful.  This special was run to see if the current low-cost of $55.00 paid by HAWA clients was too much for people in the County. 

Because of this, HAWA has determined that the need is great enough to run the special until the funds we have to support the lowered price are completely used up.  Penny Wallace, Haywood Animal Welfare Association, Inc.’s President has said “Given the success rate – that date will be about March 30th”.  HAWA will then have to go back to the $55.00 rate and will have no funds for subsidizing spay/neuter surgeries further.
