Don't litter, fix your critter! In partnership with the Humane Alliance, HAWA offers low cost spay/neuter services to the residents of Haywood County. For $30 we can help you help your pets to live longer, happier lives. We have some funds to cover full surgery cost for income-qualified pet owners. Call our office for more information.

Did you know your pet can be spayed or neutered as young as 10 weeks of age?

To have your pet spayed or neutered at the Humane Alliance Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Asheville you must make advance reservations. You can register at the HAWA office at 145 Wall Street.

There are a limited number of spaces for each transport.

Office Address: 145 Wall Street in Waynesville

Office hours: Monday through Thursday from 10 to 5.

Please call (828) 452-1329 for directions or further information.

You can also purchase low cost vouchers from us and make your own appointment for your pet’s surgery with the Humane Alliance clinic.

Instructions for Spay/Neuter Day:

  • All pets must be in a plastic pet carrier for transport.
  • If you do not have a carrier rent one to you for $5.
  • Your pet should be given no food or water after 9 pm the night before.
  • Drop your pet(s) off at 8:00 am at the brown shed located at Charles and Boundary Streets — directly across from Haywood Builders Supply.
  • Pickup your pet between 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. the following day at the same location.

Some local vets honor our low-cost vouchers too. If you wish to purchase a voucher and take your pet to your vet, contact your vet first to determine if the practice will honor the voucher and how much over the voucher you will be charged.
