Special August-September Rate
Tuesday, 22 July 2008

HAWA is offering a $30 special rate for the months of August and September. Sign up your dog and/or cat and pay only $30 for the spay/neuter. Any additional shots are extra. Take advantage of this low cost special now and prevent unwanted litters that could end up in the shelter.

Space is limited so sign up early.

HAWA has a low-cost micro-chip ID service ($15 per pet) available at the time your pet’s surgery is done.  More than 90% of pets lost without ID are never returned – many are euthanized. The Haywood County Animal Shelter has only 4 working days for an owner to re-claim their pet. If your pet has the ID, an automatic scan of your pet will let the shelter people know and you will be notified.  For more information call 452-1329

Haywood Animal Welfare Association, Inc. (HAWA) provides pet food at county food pantries distributing much needed pet food to pet owning low-income individuals and families and to Meals on Wheels for the pet owning shut-ins they serve.  The pet food distributed helps these pet owners keep their pets healthy and well nourished and because they don’t have to spend scarce funds on pet food, they can purchase more nourishing food for themselves.
